Why do the screens keep turning off and on or keep flickering when I use a docking station?

My issue with the displays going out every 30 seconds with “No signal” displaying
I have 2 workstations at home. This is because I find it boring to work in the attic when everyone is home.
The workstation in the living room is in an old-fashioned computer cabinet where you can slide out a shelf.
A beautiful place to sit for an evening, but you sit on a dining room chair that you can’t sit on for hours (at least not mine), and the idea that everyone can see me sitting there from the street is not something I like during the day, so I often move to my workstation in the attic.
So upstairs already existed, and everything works perfectly there.
When I started with the living room workplace there was a display with a built-in docking station, PERFECT! then it at least looks a bit tidy in the living room.
Only when I connected my device the displays went off about every 30 seconds and the displays also said No signal and then they came back up.
