Bluetooth & other devices
I am talking about a Bluetooth computer mouse, but the tutorial works for all Bluetooth devices on Windows.
I have a Bluetooth computer mouse that I use when I am not at my workplace.
When I go to customers or other places I often do not want to use the public network they have there, so I use my mobile 4g network.
After I connected to my 4g network my Bluetooth computer mouse wouldn’t work anymore. Strange, that’s a first for me.
When checking my Bluetooth devices, I noticed the error message: ‘Setup incomplete because of a metered connection‘.

Your Bluetooth device is probably trying to retrieve the drivers from the network, but is not allowed to download them because you are on a metered network.
Let’s turn off (temporarily) the metered connection to use Bluetooth devices
Open your WiFi.
Click on the WiFi you are connected to.
Open the Properties.

Scroll down to Metered Connection.
Turn off Set as Metered Connection.

Now reconnect with your Bluetooth device and see if it works.
Should I keep the Metered Connection disabled even when I’m on a Metered Connection?
If you are on a metered network and do not want to disable it, you can also temporarily turn it off to make the connection so that Bluetooth can download the driver.
Keep in mind that you cannot estimate how many Mb the driver is and whether it exceeds your data usage limit.
