How to go passwordless with a Microsoft account

How do you log on Passwordless?

Microsoft announced that you can now go passwordless with your Microsoft Account. This means that you will literally remove the password from your account and use an application to approve the request to login instead.

You didn’t come here to know what passwordless is. Below is the tutorial where I explain how you can go passwordless with your Microsoft account.

How to go Passwordless with your Microsoft account!

For if you haven’t yet, please download the Authenticator app on your phone.

Go to Microsoft.com and log in to your account in the upper-right corner of your browser.

Go to your account in the upper-right corner again.

Select your profile

Click on My Microsoft account.

Scroll down to Security and open Additional security options.

Scroll to Additional Security.

If you haven’t configured the Microsoft Authenticator app yet, please follow the steps for Two-step verification first.

Click on Passwordless account.

Click Next

Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone and Approve the request.

Got no screenshot of approving the request in the app unfortunately (Not allowed by company policy)

Click Done
Click Done

Now you need your phone’s authenticator app to log on your Microsoft account, and you do not need your Microsoft Password anymore! Just don’t lose your phone now though, or you won’t be able to get acces to your account anymore!
