IMPORTANT NOTICE!
This will also work when your bluetooth sound isn’t working as it should. For me, the sound sounded like it came from the loudspeaker of your phone.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it worked for other devices as well.
“That didn’t work. Make sure your Bluetooth device is still discoverable, then try again.”
I have a Beats Studio 3 wireless headset. After 2 to 3 months the sound suddenly changed and it sounded dull. I then came up with the clever idea of simply removing the drivers ‘for a moment’.
After re-connecting with the Beats headset I hoped that the drivers would be installed again. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Not even with the Beats Updater (It’s for the firmware only).
I was able to connect to the headset, but no sound came from the headset. I did some more troubleshooting and ended up with the below error message:
“That didn’t work. Make sure your Bluetooth device is still discoverable, then try again.”

I expect others to also encounter this error message.
Let’s just fix your Beats and that shitty Bluetooth.
Let’s just solve this problem.
Go to Start and click on the GearWheel in the startmenu.
Search for Bluetooth and click on Bluetooth and other device settings.
Find the device you have trouble with in the Audio tab.
Click on the device and click Remove device.

Now go back to Start and search for Device Manager.
Click on Device Manager.
Open tab Audio input and output.
Right click every single Beats driver and choose Uninstall device.

Now go back to the Bluetooth settings.
Click on Add Bluetooth or other device.

Before we continue; press the Power button on your Beats device and wait for the led lights to start blink.
Now click on Bluetooth in Add a device.
Connect with your Beats device again.

If all goes well you should see the below message, and your device is connected again.
